Research and development unit

Research and Development Unit prepares, conducts and implements research projects in the following areas:

• rehabilitation engineering
• provide support in the preparation, management and implementation of research projects in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation
• carries out laboratory tests in the field of kinesiology and biomechanical needs dinamometrije for outpatient rehabilitation services.

In the context of implementation of the research program of the University Rehabilitation Institute – Soca the Research and development Unit continually:

• develops novelties in measurement, diagnostics and therapeutic techniques,
• develops methods and devices and their evaluation in the rehabilitation of physically handicapped persons.

Research and Development Unit is also actively involved in training young researchers in engineering and medicine.
In the field of laboratory examination the Unit carries out:

• measurement of movement (especially walking),
• isometric and isokinetic measurements of strength of individual muscle groups
• implementation of therapeutic developments in makes individual decisions by isokinetic dynamometer and
• biomechanical analysis of walking kinematics and kinetics for individual clinical cases
