Building on the UniversAAL research project which was launched in 2010, ReAAL project from the EU CIP Programme (Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme) aims to demonstrate the advantages of using open and flexible ICT solutions as basis for flexible and personalised delivery of a range of services needed for independent and active living of older people.

ReAAL (2013-2016)  targets a large scale pilot deployment of services to users across seven countries in Europe and will contribute to action group C2 (Independent Living) of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing. In 2015 ReAAL contracted Associated Pilots in four additional countries, including the SCUPS pilot in Slovenia.

The ReAAL SCUPS Associated Pilot involves five partners from Slovenia and aims to adapt and integrate two different AAL services with the UniversAAL platform. The integrated services will then be evaluated in a pilot with end-users and professional users. These two services are:

  • Home Care provided by the two social care providers (Pristan, CareDesign), while application is developed by Smart Com.
  • Remote Rehabilitation and Diagnostics on Demand provided by the University Rehabilitation Institute (URI), where application is developed by both URI and SETCCE.
